What do you call a guy who has started five companies, worked for another six, been a paperboy, drummer, retail and wholesale sales rep, radio dj, club dj, non-profit fundraiser, business executive, preacher, teacher and chief bottle washer? Well, he sometimes refers to himself as a serial entrepreneur. On the other hand, his wife would suggest something closer to a non-stop ideas guy.
First and foremost, Glenn is a passionate marketer. He believes that providing remarkable customer experience deserves to be embraced company wide – beyond a cliche company vision statement. When it comes to the web, he believes that, in the rush to "build it and they will come", too many companies forgot that 'eyeballs' actually reside inside a real person's head.
Glenn is a marketing guy at heart and, admittedly, our most vocal "chirper" at ChirpMill. True, at his age he shouldn't be doing so much CSS, HTML, PSD slicing, while trying to actually understand programmers, but he still believes he can leverage his experience to help your business out AND, still teach the young bucks a thing or two.
Publishing runs through his blood. His grandfather was an editor who loved to tell stories and set hot type. His father was born with ink on his hands and a witty headline in his back pocket. Curtis grew up with the thrill of the printed word and art around him. He bypassed flight school to follow his dream to do what he now does best. Design and Marketing.
His skill is in combining the printed word with calculated artistry and product knowledge to produce materials that actually WORK for ChirpMill clients.
With over 20 years as a non-stop graphic designer he's more adept at conveying visual messages than delivering the flying public. We thank him for making the right career choice.
Some people like expressing themselves with either the written or spoken word. Others prefer drawing pictures or images that evoke meaning. Then there are programmers. Forget the caricature of the guy with the plastic pen protector, truly gifted programmers wear contact lenses and drive eco-friendly, foreign cars.
Alvin is yet another breed of programmer. He has a very different take on the traditional lava LAMP. His SQL is a thriller in which the geek eliminates the evil twin of the world's lord from central earth. Or something like that.
Alvin leads our product development and we think you will find him quite approachable. For a programmer.
